Parents, teachers rally against release of data reports

BROOKLYN - Many parents and teachers held a rally today against the release of teachers data reports saying they should not effect a teacher?s tenure.

Some teachers say they feel the reports are unfair and don?t take into account several aspects of teaching.

"The state declares that the tests the DOE has been citing are basically useless," says Michael Mulgrew, president of the United Federation of Teachers. "Now the DOE wants to make public a group of reports based on these faulty tests, reports that also feature other incomplete and inaccurate student data."
