Parents upset after students reassigned without notice

BROOKLYN - Some parents at I.S. 234 are upset and say they were never notified their children would be transferred to another school.

Parents say they dropped their children off at the school on Tuesday. Around noon, several students were taken out from classrooms and transferred to another school, according to parents.

Parents say they were upset they were not notified of the change. Students received a letter stating they were all being transferred on Tuesday. The Department of Education says the students registered late and due to overcrowding in classrooms it was necessary to transfer those students.
