Park brings renaissance to Brooklyn

BROOKLYN - The Brooklyn Bridge Park is officially a city-controlled property and plans to make it a tourist attraction are under way.

The park will become a new waterfront arena run by the city with amenities such as bicycling and dog walks. Mayor Michael Bloomberg says the state will no longer control the 85-acre park.

Bloomberg says he hopes the park will become a major tourist attraction.

Construction of the park is behind schedule, but Bloomberg says it will move forward soon.
