BROOKLYN - Pier 1 officially opened Monday in Brooklyn Bridge Park and many hope it will help revive the downtown area.

The park features views of the Manhattan skyline and could be the setting for a new wine bar. Officials say the 85-acre, $350 million project is slated to be complete by 2012.

When complete the park could feature a boating area, skating rink, biking path and several new restaurants.
