Park Slope YMCA opens after 2-year delay

PARK SLOPE - A long awaited YMCA sports complex opened Monday on 15th Street inside the Park Slope Armory.

The center will serve as a gym for P.S. 107 students, as well as a local fitness center. Matthew Rohrer, a parent, says the school has about 450 students and no gym space.

The armory also houses a shelter for women, but parents say the spaces have been defined and do not overlap.

The YMCA will be open to community members Jan. 30.
