PARK SLOPE - Parking-meter rates are about to go up.

Starting next year, rates are increasing to $1 an hour in Brooklyn, up from 75 cents now.

The increase means that meter rates will have doubled in less than two years. Before the spring of 2009, meter rates in Brooklyn held steady at 50 cents per hour for 17 years.
