BROOKLYN - New York City Parks and AT&T are working to expand Wi-Fi service and mobile charging stations at parks and beaches around the city this summer.

Officials from both organizations met in the Bronx Tuesday to announce the free Wi-Fi service at 27 locations in 21 parks across the five boroughs.

The groups say it will also expand the number of free solar mobile charging stations to 34 units at 15 parks and beaches across the city; adding four new park locations, Queens Flushing Meadows Park at the Unisphere, Brooklyn's Sunset Park and Prospect Park at the LeFrak Center and Joyce Kilmer Park in the Bronx.

The initiative was originally launched in 2011.
