Permanent street closures around Atlantic yards

BROOKLYN - Several streets around the Atlantic Yards project are slated to be closed permanently beginning in March to make way for the Barclays Center arena.

Local officials will announce exact streets that will be affected at a public information meeting beginning 6 p.m. Wednesday at 85 South Oxford St.

The Barclays Center Arena a $3.5 billion sports arena, business and residential complex to house the current New Jersey Nets basketball team.

The team will relocate to Brooklyn and be renamed after the borough once the arena is complete.
