(08/25/10) BROOKYLN - Authorities say a person of interest in the fatal shooting of a clerk at a Midwood liquor store last week was originally brought in for questioning in a different robbery.
Police Commissioner Ray Kelly did not divulge the identity of the man, but did say he was brought in because of a tip regarding a license plate. Police say someone called in a license plate number of a vehicle they saw at the scene of a robbery back in June. Investigators say they tracked down the vehicle, brought in the man and he was then picked out of a lineup.
Police say 35-year-old Yoseph Robinson was fatally shot in the chest while trying to protect his girlfriend during the robbery at MB Vineyards.
