BROOKLYN - Animal rights activists from PETA are protesting the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus over the alleged abuse of its animals.

The activists are handing out leaflets and coloring books to people walking near the Barclays Center.

The circus released a statement saying that it provides the highest standards of care to the animal performers.

The Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus is running at the Barclays Center until March 2.
