Pit bull who attacked child to be put down

BROOKLYN - A Brooklyn family whose pit bull attacked their toddler has decided to have the dog put down.

Police say the incident occurred Sunday afternoon in the family?s apartment on 86th Street. Neighbors say the pit bull severely bit the child?s face.

Sean Casey, owner of Animal Rescue in Windsor Terrace, says Brooklyn residents shouldn?t let the incident change their opinion of pit bulls. Other Brooklyn residents disagree, saying they would rather be safe than sorry.
