BROOKLYN - With assaults on bus drivers on the rise, state Sen. Eric Adams has proposed a plan to hand out stun guns to some transit workers.

A representative from the Transit Workers' Union (TWU) says bus drivers also want more police presence to send a message that they are not targets.

The first national Transit Workers' Assault Conference will be held May 10 to examine how to combat violent acts being committed against transit operators.
