Planning begins to get P.S. 114 back on track

BROOKLYN - Planning is already under way to get P.S. 114 back on track after the Department of Education (DOE) announced last night that the elementary school will remain open.

DOE officials put the underperforming Canarsie school on the chopping block, but parents and teachers spent weeks arguing that the previous principal was responsible for the school's downfall.

With help from elected officials, parents have organized a plan for the school's future. They say they will meet with the DOE in the next few weeks to push for more funding and resources that the students need.
