PROSPECT PARK - A mock camp set up Wednesday in the middle of Brooklyn?s premiere urban oasis is exposing curious New Yorkers to the plight of international refugees. The humanitarian organization Doctors Without Borders wanted the borough?s children to experience what it might be like in camps that try to house the world?s 33 million refugees. Tents show what aid workers do in real-life camps, including how they distribute food and clean water. After learning about places like Darfur in Sudan, where an estimated five million people are displaced, many children say they are glad they?re living in New York City and not in a camp. Organizers say the exhibit will be open every day from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. through September 24.
