Two people, including a 10-year-old boy were shot on Mermaid Avenue in Coney Island.

BROOKLYN - Police are investigating in Coney Island after two people were shot on Mermaid Avenue Saturday night.

One of the victims is a 10-year-old boy who was shot in the knee; the other, a 25-year-old. Both were taken to Lutheran Medical Center and are expected to be OK.

Witnesses say they heard five gunshots in total.

Police are searching a male suspect, who they say was last seen wearing a yellow T-shirt, yellow shorts, white sneakers and a multi-colored baseball hat.
