Police: $3.5M in drugs hidden in vegetable shipment

Officials say $3.5 million worth of drugs were hidden in containers of vegetables being shipped through Brooklyn.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers have announced that they found 121 pounds of heroin and 8 pounds of cocaine in a shipping container moving through the Red Hook Container Terminal back in January.

BROOKLYN - Officials say $3.5 million worth of drugs were hidden in containers of vegetables being shipped through Brooklyn.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers have announced that they found 121 pounds of heroin and 8 pounds of cocaine in a shipping container moving through the Red Hook Container Terminal back in January.

Officials say the container was traveling to from Ecuador to Miami.

No arrests have been made and police are trying to track down suspects in the case.
