BROOKLYN - Police say five people were stabbed outside a Bay Ridge club early this morning.

The stabbings occurred at the Crown Club on 64th Street at around 3:30 a.m.  Police say the victims were all taken to hospitals.

Police say they have one person in custody in connection with the stabbings.

The club has sparked controversy in the neighborhood and has faced opposition from some community members because it is right across the street from a school.

Neighbors say they often see police being called to the club. Some say the problems escalated since the club received its liquor license last year.
