BROOKLYN - Police have issued a citywide carjacking alert after a pattern of incidents in Brooklyn and Staten Island.

In the month of May, seven carjacking incidents were reported. The most recent one took place in Starrett City on Flatlands Avenue at a storage facility. Police say four men got away with the victim's white van last week.

The targets appear to be high-end vehicles at self-service places like gas stations and car wash locations.

Drivers say it's just one more safety concern they need to be conscious of each and every day.
