BROOKLYN - The NYPD has arrested a man suspected of hitting another man in the head with a hammer and robbing him.

Police say 28-year-old Anthony Coward hit a 32-year-old man while he was trying to buy a MetroCard at the Fulton Street and Rockaway Avenue subway station in Brownsville on Wednesday.

The victim was taken to the hospital for a head injury and later released.

Coward is also suspected of attacking two other people on two separate occasions with a hammer before robbing them.
