Police arrest BK sexual assault suspect

Police say that after questioning a person of interest today, they have made an arrest in the recent sexual assault of a woman in Brooklyn.

BROOKLYN - Police say that after questioning a person of interest today, they have made an arrest in the recent sexual assault of a woman in Brooklyn.

Authorities say 24-year-old William Giraldo has been charged for a June 4 rape inside an apartment on 27th Street. They say Giraldo turned himself in after police released surveillance video of a suspect wanted for the rape, as well as three other attacks in the borough.

Officials say Girlado admitted to being the person seen on the tape, but denied having anything to do with the crimes.

Girlado now faces several charges, including rape, sexual abuse, robbery, assault and sexual misconduct. Police say those charges stem only from the June 4 rape and that Giraldo has not been charged with the other attacks.
