BROOKLYN - Police say they have made an arrest in connection with a Canarsie home invasion reported on Monday by News 12 Brooklyn.

Officials say Jayquan Straker, 24, has been arrested in connection with the home invasion in which a 10-year-old boy scared off two would-be robbers.

Straker was arrested after two men dressed as deliverymen pushed their way into a home on East 80th Street when two teenaged sisters opened the door.

The apartment owner allegedly slammed the door on one of the suspects’ arms, forcing him to drop his gun. Police say the 10-year-old picked up the gun and fired it once, scaring off the two men.

The other suspect remains on the loose.
