BROOKLYN - The Police Athletic League's PLAYSTREETS is now open to neighborhood kids for the summer.

The PAL has a more structured curriculum this year with the theme "Exploring the Caribbean." Mentors will teach kids how to stay safe and healthy while having fun outdoors at nearly 50 locations throughout the five boroughs.

A bicycle program is being offered this year for the first time to teach young people how to properly ride a bike on city streets.

There are more than a dozen summer playstreet locations Brooklyn for anyone ages 6-16. The program runs every weekday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.
