Police say the suspect approached the boy after he threw a bag of chips onto the subway platform at the 3rd Street and 4th Avenue station. They say the man flashed a fake badge and told the boy to walk with him to a white van.

Investigators say the man drove the teen to 92nd Street and Dalgren Place, where he sexually assaulted him before letting him go at 38th Street and 4th Avenue.

The suspect is described as a white male, standing at 5 feet 8 inches tall. Police say he's bald with a grey mustache and a mole under the left side of his lip.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS.
