BROOKLYN - Police have a man in custody who is believed to be the shooter who killed a young mother in Bed-Stuy with a stray bullet.

According to authorities, 21-year-old Corey Brown shot and killed Nicoleia Taylor in broad daylight on Dekalb Avenue on Oct 1.

The 24-year-old woman was visiting family at the Lafayette Gardens housing complex at the time of the shooting.

Police say they identified Brown as a suspect immediately after the shooting. Authorities tracked him down in Connecticut this past week and took him into custody.

Brown has been charged with second-degree murder.

Allen Shaw, 34, has also been charged with criminal possession of a weapon in connection to the case. Police believe Shaw handed Brown the gun before the fatal bullet was fired.
