BROOKLYN - Police have released the identity of an elderly woman who was struck and killed by an MTA bus in Starrett City.

Authorities say 82-year-old Lyubov Angert was hit at around 7 a.m. Thursday as she tried to cross the street on Seaview and Pennsylvania avenues. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The female bus driver had been making a left turn, and remained at the scene. There were no passengers on the bus at the time.

Witnesses say the crash severed the victim's arm and that the driver was in shock.
