BROOKLYN - Police released an image Tuesday of a woman wanted for questioning in an attempted abduction in Bensonhurst over the weekend.

They say the mother of a little girl who was the potential victim took the picture.

As News 12 has previously reported, the woman allegedly approached a 2-year-old girl as she played outside Saturday morning near 16th Avenue and 80th Street.

Police say the woman took the toddler's hand and began walking away. The child's mother intervened and took the girl back.

The woman then fled.

Police say the woman wanted for questioning is of Asian descent. She was wearing dark pants and a red and white plaid or checkered shirt.

Police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS or 1-888-57-PISTA for Spanish.
