Police investigate attempted rape, robbery at Reinaldo Salgado Park in Bed-Stuy
BEDFORD-STUYVESANT - An attempted rape and robbery that took place in Reinaldo Salgado Park in Bed-Stuy is under investigation.
Police say the incident happened at around midnight on Saturday. They say a 20-year-old woman was walking near Madison Street and Patchen Avenue when the suspect came up behind her.
The suspect reportedly dragged the victim into the park, threw her to the ground, punched her repeatedly and took about $60 from her. Police say the suspect then pushed the victim against a fence and sexually assaulted her before fleeing.

Officials describe him as about 5'9'' with a medium build, light hazel eyes and medium skin tone.
He was last seen wearing blue sweatpants and a dark-hooded sweatshirt.
