Police investigate burglary, vandalism at BK Jewish center

SHEEPSHEAD BAY - Police are investigating a burglary and vandalism at the Avenue Z Jewish Center in Sheepshead Bay which occurred over a week ago.

Investigators say that along with broken windows and stolen money from the office of the center, a torah was damaged during the crime. If deemed irreparable, a new one could cost $50,000.

Members of the center say they are stunned that someone could do this.

Police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
