BROOKLYN - Police are investigating numerous offensive posters illegally placed on public telephones in Canarsie and Mill Basin.

In the poster, a black man's head hangs from a noose while a man in a white mask smirks as he holds it.

Residents say the posters appear to be a music promotion.

Community groups plan to patrol the area and remove all of them.
