EAST NEW YORK - Police are investigating a shooting Monday that left a Nigerian immigrant dead and his brother injured.

Police responded to reports of a shooting at 971 Jerome Street early Monday. Upon arriving, police say they found 31-year-old John Drew Kennedy shot in the head and his brother shot in the arm. Kennedy was pronounced dead at the scene and his brother was taken to Brookdale Hospital.

Police say as many as two shooters may be involved. They are looking into whether or not the shooting was a result of a botched robbery.
