BROOKLYN - Police are investigating the beating of a man on the J train over the weekend.

The attack happened between the Marcy Avenue and Gates Avenue stations. Police say the victim told them the attacker yelled anti-gay remarks before punching him in the face two times.

Officials say the attack is being investigated as a possible bias incident by the Hate Crimes Task Force.

Police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS
