Police looking for suspect who stole school bus

BROOKLYN - Police are looking for a man who stole a school bus and plowed into several cars Monday afternoon.

Authorities say the incident happened at 86th Street and 20th Avenue. Witnesses say as soon as the bus came to a crashing stop, the driver hopped out and began to run, as local merchants attempted to chase him down.

The owner of the bus company, DLE bus services, says his driver parked the bus by the David. A. Boody Junior High School and took his keys with him on his lunch break. The manager says school buses are easier to break into than other vehicles.

Anyone with information about this incident should call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
