BROOKLYN - Police have arrested a suspect in the stabbing of the owner of a popular Carroll Gardens pizzeria.Benny Geritano, 39, has been charged with assault for allegedly stabbing 44-year-old Mark Iacono several times with a large knife in broad daylight yesterday.The incident happened in front of 349 Smith St., just blocks away from Iacono's business, Lucali Pizzeria. Iacono's neighbors were shocked by the stabbing, describing him as a fixture in the neighborhood and a friendly person. Police say Iacono is recovering in the hospital and is expected to survive.Investigators say Geritano has a long criminal history, including an attempted murder charge dating back to 1991.
