BROOKLYN - Police say they have arrested a man who lost control in his Dyker Heights home early this morning and fired shots into the street.

According to authorities, the 33-year-old man threw objects and fired rounds from inside of the home, striking two police vehicles and one civilian car.

Police say they believe the incident began when the suspect got into an argument with his landlord, who escaped after being pistol-whipped. They say the landlord then called cops from a nearby pay phone.

Officials say the man is undergoing a psychiatric evaluation.
