WILLIAMSBURG - Police say a suspect is in custody after fleeing the scene of a crash and hiding in a closet.

Police were out on Lorimer Street and Skillman Avenue, along with a helicopter flying overhead, looking for the suspect. According to police, the suspect refused to stop for a moving violation, then got out of the car and fled. The abandoned car, still in drive, hit a parked car.

Authorities say they eventually located the suspect inside a resident's closet.

Charges are pending against the suspect, described as a 23-year-old Hispanic male.
