BROOKLYN - Police are searching for a man who allegedly tried to lure a young girl into his car.

Officials say a 12-year-old girl was walking in Bedford-Stuyvesant when she was approached by a man driving a dark colored SUV or minivan.

It happened last Friday at around 3:30 p.m. when the girl was on the corner of Saratoga Avenue and Marion Street.

The suspect allegedly approached the girl, honked his horn to get her attention and opened his passenger side door motioning for her to get in.

The girl kept walking and the man drove off heading westbound on Marion Street.
