BROOKLYN - Police are seeking the public's assistance in finding a suspect wanted for an attempted rape in Crown Heights.

Police say the male suspect tried to talk to a 30-year-old woman in a stairwell at around 1 a.m. Saturday. News 12 is told he then pushed her to the ground and attempted to rape her before fleeing the scene.

Police describe the man as a 5-foot-9, 130-pound black male in his 20s. He was wearing a white T-shirt and jeans.

Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
