Police: Man who tried to lure BK women into car caught

BUSHWICK - A man who allegedly roamed Bushwick streets trying to lure women into his car Monday is in police custody.

Police say 24-year-old Samuel Vante approached seven women, ages 12 to 52, in a stolen black Chevrolet. All of the women denied his advances.

Officers arrested Vante at the corner of Bleecker Street and Central Avenue as he was trying to steal another vehicle, according to investigators.

Vante faces seven counts each of attempted unlawful imprisonment, menacing and stalking. He also faces a count of endangering the welfare of a child.

Police are asking anyone who may have come in contact with Vante to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
