BROOKLYN - Police say a non-verbal teen with autism was found naked near the water at Coney Island beach Saturday afternoon.

The 14-year-old who is a student at P.S. 721 was reported missing from a community based program.

Police say the boy was taken to a hospital.

The Department of Education commented by saying  "‎Yesterday's event was hosted by a community based organization and was not a DOE program. This is a deeply alarming incident. Nothing is more important than the safety of all students and staff. We are working closely with the organization that hosted the event and the NYPD to investigate this incident. We train CBO providers on DOE Emergency Protocols‎ and will continue to provide ongoing supports‎."

There is no word on his condition at this time.
