BOROUGH PARK - Over $200,000 worth of religious books were stolen from a Brooklyn synagogue, police say.

The incident happened Sunday inside Congregation Maase Rokach synagogue on 5423 12th Ave. in Borough Park between 3 a.m. and 7:30 a.m.

Police say two men and a woman entered the rear of the synagogue using a pin on a code lock given out by the congregation rabbi.

The suspects eventually forced open a door to the basement library using a crowbar before removing nine books valued at $223,000.

The three fled the location in a white four-door SUV, police say.

Police released an image of the suspect's SUV and are calling the incident a robbery.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Shmira Public Safety office at 718-871-4444.
