Police probe another attempted sexual assault in Brooklyn

BROOKLYN - Police say they are investigating another attempted sexual assault that happened on the streets of Brooklyn last night.

Authorities say the female victim had just stepped off the R train at Prospect Avenue at around 9:15 p.m. when a man grabbed her breasts. A local resident says he heard her screaming and immediately dialed 911.

The latest incident brings the total number of reported attacks in the Park Slope and Sunset Park areas to 10 since March. Officials say they are searching for two or three men, with last night's suspect being described as a Hispanic male about 5 feet 7 inches tall.

Detectives went door-to-door informing everyone what had happened and warned them to stay on alert. Area residents say the rash of assaults is unnerving, but have been fighting back with safety meetings and a march condemning the violence.
