Police probe possible bias attack in Williamsburg

WILLIAMSBURG - Police have made two arrests in a possible bias attack yesterday in Williamsburg.

The 44-year-old victim was severely beaten by two teens outside a yeshiva at 161 Harrison Ave., according to authorities. Officials say they believe the attack could have been a hate crime because the victim is a Hasidic Jew.

Police officials say the teens may have also played a part in a Thanksgiving Day attack on Joel Weinberger, a 26-year-old teacher at the yeshiva.
