Police probe string of burglaries targeting ATMs

BROOKLYN - Police say they are investigating a string of burglaries involving ATM machines throughout the borough.

Local business owners say in the past year, nearly 60 stores have been broken into in Bensonhurst and Park Slope.

The most recent store targeted was a 99 cent store on 86th Street. The owners say they believe whoever is behind the burglaries is a professional.

Officials say about $250,000 combined has been stolen so far.
