BAY RIDGE - The NYPD is ramping up its efforts to catch a rape suspect in Bay Ridge by offering a reward.

Police have released a surveillance video of the suspect they say attacked a 39-year-old woman Wednesday and then ran off.

Neighbors say the woman was raped when she went to the basement of her building on Fort Hamilton Parkway. Police are now offering a $12,000 reward to anyone with information about the rape that leads to a conviction.

Authorities say the male suspect is between 30 and 40 years old, about 5 feet 8 inches to 6 feet tall, and about 180 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

Police are asking anyone with information about the crime to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
