BROOKLYN - Police say they are questioning a possible suspect in the fatal shooting of a 22-year-old Brownsville man in East New York.

According to investigators, Wayne Elliot was found with three gunshot wounds to his back and one to his shoulder in front of the Greater Refuge Ministries Church at Hendrix Street and Liberty Avenue early Sunday morning.

Elliot was rushed to Brookdale Hospital where he died. His father says he was killed after a birthday party and believes it was related to an earlier altercation.

Authorities say a gun was recovered at the scene.
