BROOKLYN - A law enforcement official says human remains found on Long Island most likely belong to a missing Brooklyn woman.

A law enforcement official says that a tattoo on the torso of the body found July 8 in Bay Shore matches one that 27-year-old Chinelle Latoya Browne has. The 27-year-old went missing earlier this month.

Police say they found what appears to be a severed human head Thursday night in Hempstead, the same town where two severed arms were found last week. Two days before that, a torso was found further east, in a parking lot located in Bay Shore.

Homicide detectives in Nassau and Suffolk counties on Long Island continue to investigate as they await DNA test results from the medical examiner to properly identify the remains.

Browne's husband says she moved to New York from Guyana about a year ago. He says police have told him that they "strongly believe" the severed arms are those of his wife.

News 12 spoke with Browne's neighbors in Brownsville, who say she was a friendly person and a hard worker.
