PARAMUS, N.J. - Officials have confirmed the suspect in last night's mall shooting in New Jersey has been found dead in the mall.

Bergen County Prosecutor John Molinelli identified the shooter as 20-year-old Richard Shoop from Teaneck. Molinelli says Shoop's body was found at around 3:20 a.m. in a back area of the Westfield Garden State Plaza Mall that was under construction. Police say Shoop had a history of drug abuse.

Police and witnesses say Shoop fired multiple shots at the mall in Paramus last night as frantic shoppers and employees ran for cover. Despite all the commotion caused, there have been no reports of any injuries. The mall will remain closed today.
