Police: Robberies of iPods, cell phones on rise

BENSONHURST - While overall crime in Bensonhurst is down, police say robberies of electronic gizmos are on the rise.

Police say MP3 players such as iPods and cell phones are especially being targeted by thieves. They say users of the electronic devices can also be easy prey because they are often distracted by the devices.

Police say Bensonhurst residents using these products need to be more aware of their surroundings to ward off would-be thieves.
