Police search for clues in Canarsie sexual assault

CANARSIE - A sexual attack in Canarsie last week has left women there shaken as police search for the assailant.

Police say the assault happened Jan. 19 when a man with a gun approached a woman and forced her into a building on Farragut Road.

According to authorities, the suspect is in his late 20s, about 6 feet tall and weighs 160 to 180 pounds. He was wearing a black leather coat and blue jeans.

Police are asking anyone with information about the assault to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
