GOWANUS - Authorities are searching for a hit-and-run driver who left a pedestrian for dead in Gowanus Saturday morning.

Police say a 27-year-old man was hit by a vehicle that was traveling southbound on Third Avenue near Seventh Street at around 8 a.m. They say the driver sped away from the scene.

The victim was taken to Methodist Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police say the suspect was driving a black 2013 Nissan Altima.

No arrests have been made.
